I have been photographing the wilderness for many years as a not only a hobby, but as a record of my travels and experiences, and as a challenge to artistically portray the beauty of nature.  Computers and digital cameras have revolutionized photography in terms of the ability to manipulate the image outside of a chemical darkroom.  One of the most fascinating aspects to me is the ability to stitch together several photos to create a more complete record of the scene. All photos below are composites of at least 2 photographs. Almost all of my panos have been hand-held without the use of a tripod.

Remember, panoramas are large files, though I have compressed them a bit, they will still take some time to download, particularly on dail-up connections!  And remember, scroll L-R to see all of the photo.

Panoramas from Westmoreland State Park

Panoramas from Earthshine Mountain Lodge

Panoramas from NC 215

Panoramas from Black Mountain Crest Trail

Following are a variety of panoramic photos in no particular order. I have been adding a bunch of new photos to my website, but just haven't had time to make thumbnails and real web pages for each one. So...there are just links to the actual photo itself, which will be displayed as a jpeg in your broswer. You can use the browser's BACK button to return to this page.
Remember, most modern browsers will fit the image to the browser window, so you must mouse over the image so that your cursor changes to a magnifying glass. If the cursor shows a "PLUS SIGN", click and the full size image will appear, then you then must scroll L-R to see all the image. Click the "MINUS SIGN" cursor to fit in window again. Remember, these are fairly large photos and will take a while to load on dail-up.
